Program Mission

The ACE Teaching Innovation Awards aim to broaden and enrich the teaching of cultural evolution by empowering researchers and teachers to adopt and integrate award-winning course materials into novel or revised courses around the world. This program offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with CES and the winners of the ACE Course Design Award courses. Our collective goal is to expand and enhance cultural evolution teaching globally.

Award Structure & Funding Process

To accommodate varying academic calendars, these awards are processed on a rolling basis.

• Phase 1: Application & Shortlisting Submit your application including your course capability and institutional approval. Successful applicants will be formally shortlisted and provided with a Teaching Impact Report template.
• Phase 2: Course Delivery & Reporting Instructors will deliver their planned course integrating the CES library materials. Upon completion, you will fill out the Teaching Impact Report to show adequate evidence of the course’s impact and delivery.
• Phase 3: Award Disbursement The funding is released as and when you submit your final report to the administrative team.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the shortlist:

1. Academic Qualification: Hold a PhD or an equivalent qualification that permits undergraduate-level instruction in their country.
2. Course Content: Be prepared to dedicate a major portion of course content to cultural evolution.
3. Institutional Support: Demonstrate official permission to teach the proposed course (such as an uploaded letter from a department head, chair, dean, or president).
